Ghost 6.0 launched **4 August 2025**, bundling **social distribution**, **first-party analytics**, and a clearer **deployment roadmap** for the next decade of independent publishing.

## ActivityPub and the social web

Publications can join the open social web: readers on Bluesky, Mastodon, Threads, and compatible clients can follow, like, and reply—adding discovery loops email alone cannot replicate while you keep your domain and member graph.

ActivityPub connects long-form publishing to fediverse-style network effects.

## Native analytics

Cookie-free analytics unify web traffic with newsletters and memberships, filterable by public visitors, free members, and paid subscribers. Self-hosters can attach a Tinybird key; managed hosting includes hosted analytics on eligible plans.

## Theme and ops notes

Ghost 6 targets **Ubuntu 24, Node 22, and MySQL 8**, with Docker Compose documented as the forward deploy path. Theme authors should validate against GScan for `@site.locale`, `social_url`, kg card widths, and page visibility flags. AMP support is deprecated.
